Shawn Porter was part of the Fox Sports call for one welterweight while hearing the platform formally announce another. What he would really love to hear is an announcement confirming his next fight. The reigning two-time welterweight titlist has patiently waited for word that all terms are final for a planned unification bout with unbeaten Errol Spence Jr. The two have presumably agreed to all terms, down to such a fight being eyed for Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. What hasn't yet come, though, is a date-official or otherwise.

Porter deserves a shot at all the big names. He's a great representative for the entire sport. He's a good fighter and a gentleman. That is rare for African American boxers. Please do not give me the race card B.S. America loves the ghettho personality, B.S. talking, grill wearing, "keepn't reel" mentality. Porter is definitely not that type of boxer and therefore does not get the credit he deserves.

I have never understood the hate he gets even if his style is frustrating to watch,he never gets blown out by anyone & I don't see him starting now even if I think Spence not only beats him,but as I've always said I thinkhes the best ww of this era til proven otherwise imho. I know Spence and Porter feel some type of way about Thurman vs. Pacquiao being a PPV, and Garcia vs. Garcia being a PPV! Sorry fellas, neither one of you are Manny Pacquiao or Mikey Garcia! Men lie, women lie, numbers never lie! Just make the fight without PPV, and then think about the bigger fight after this one, for the winner! The September 1st, prime time Sunday on FOX sounds great, since Monday, September 2nd, is a Federal Holiday (Labor Day)! Make it happen!
