Comments Thread For: Arum: Valdez-Frampton Later This Year If Frampton Wins Next

As long as he can make weight at least one more time, Oscar Valdez's next-and potentially final featherweight title fight-figures to be a big one. The unbeaten slugger from Nogales, Mex. made the sixth successful defense of his 126-poiund strap, scoring a 12-round win over previously unbeaten Jason Sanchez in their ESPN headliner Saturday evening at Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nev.

Wow Valdez is such a warrior and at 130 he will feel better and be stronger and will be a problem for anyone at 30... let’s go Valdez!!!!

Saw this coming from a mile away. Arum would never put Valdez in with Stevenson and risk one of them (likely Valdez) losing.

Instead he'll have Valdez vacate the belt and move up to 130 and then have Stevenson fight for the vacant title.

So much for all of Valdez' talk about Santa Cruz and Gary Russell.

I'd rather see a fight with Warrington than Frampton myself.

Imagine if Russell Jr. fights another Escandon / Kiko type of opponent next...

              Such a joke all around

If Valdez finally steps up it’ll be against Frampton who’s on the slide and coming Off a L

I mean why would Arum have Valdez fight Warrington if he wins his next fight.

Then predictably instead of Valdez / ShKur happening Valdez will vacate leaving Shakur to fight for the vacant against a stiff and Valdez will move to 130 and fight Herring
              For his WBO strap

Interesting at least. Like to see Valdez get comfortable and combine his skills naturally. Gonna take time.
