Comments Thread For: Rolls: Even Before Joshua-Ruiz, I Believed I Can Upset Golovkin

Steve Rolls acknowledged Andy Ruiz Jr's stunning knockout of Anthony Joshua has provided extra motivation as he prepares to take on Gennady Golovkin. Ruiz massively upset the odds to claim Joshua's "0" and his WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight belts, knocking the Briton to the canvas four times in his United States debut at Madison Square Garden last week.

No way will Rolls upset GGG. Sadly for him upsets are rare - and one just happened. Also GGG never looked vulnerable like AJ always did

Ruiz JR was a former challenger of a world title.

The fight against Parker was too close, extremely close

      Was a hot prospect.

      105-5 in amateur career

National champion in amateur as fighters like Canelo, Estrada, Valdez, Berchelt, Óscar Valdez.

      Fastest hands in división

Rolls is not in the top-70 .

      Thats a Bull.s.h.i.t fight

GGG's chin is made of steel. You can't really compare him to Joshua for the latter being chinny

Good post. I attended the Rolls/Nicholson fight in June of 2017. Rolls won a split decision in a very good fight and his opponent could crack but GGG is world class. Rolls seems to have a good chin but that just means taking more shots. There is no real comparison here. Joshua was an accident waiting to happen where GGG should have enough left in the tank to dispose of Rolls fairly easily.
