  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Why Talk About Wilder When We Can Settle It In the Ring

Until they all begin to fight each other, Anthony Joshua has embraced the reality of constantly being asked about Deontay Wilder-and, to a lesser degree, Tyson Fury-at every turn. The unbeaten, unified heavyweight titlist from England prepares for his long-awaited United States debut, which comes versus California's Andy Ruiz this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. As was the case with the pre-fight buildup to Deontay Wilder's May 18 mandatory title defense versus Dominic Breazeale, more questions are being asked about a clash between the two heavyweights with all of the divisional hardware than any other fight they currently have scheduled.

      Wilder is no name

Less than 800k watched his fight last time on non ppv

6k tickets were sold only too

Joshua is the only one trying to get the fight made

Joshua is being left out in the cold. That povetkin rematch he joked about 2 days is about to become a reality.

Need to stop with the Joshua v Wilder talk. Wilder lost relevance when he got completely outboxed by rusty, out of shape recovering drug addict Fury. The fact he was handed a gift draw shouldn’t change that. The whole world saw Wilder look completely lost.

Talk should instead turn to Joshua vs Fury. Outside of those two who are the stand-out fighters in the division, Wilder is a second-rate heavyweight, an entertainment spectacle who’s speciality will continue to be highlight-reel knockouts of elderly and c-grade fighters, with the odd Uber driver chucked in for good measure.

Anthony Yaaawwwnshua. This cnt will be fighting anyone but Fury/Wilder/Ortiz.. I don't hate AJ, he's a good champion but I'm so fkn bored of the AJ & Eddie PR-heavy stageshow and for that I hope Andy Ruiz kicks up a storm and wins

Need to forget about Deyonce now.

IF he is indeed rematching Fury then Fury, who is now at 100%, is gonna outclass him for 12 rounds without getting dropped this time.

It's over. Deyonce ducked the strong possibility of being knocked out by AJ to lose on points to Fury instead.

Wilders gone a fully fit Fury will beat him easily.

We need to concentrate on Fury vs Joshua now.
