Comments Thread For: Joshua: I Hope Wilder Wins in 9, So I Can Say I Did It Earlier

IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will be keeping a close eye on Saturday night, when Deontay Wilder defends his WBC world title against Dominic Breazeale. Joshua faced Breazeale back in June 2016, and stopped him in seven rounds

To me, it means nothing if Wilder beats 9 and AJ did it in 7. It gives fans a chance to "lean on the fence and blow in the direction of the popular opinion. If Wilder finishes him 6 or less, then "Brezeale is AJ leftover and he was already softened up". If goes past 9, then "AJ is better than Wilder blah blah". It's really a no win situation. It took Ali 8 rounds to get rid of Foster, but it only took Fraizer 2 rounds. And common opponents in the HW division is very common because there is no where for these guys to go. There is no super heavyweight division. So AJ is just wolfin

Don't worry about Wilder, just make sure you do a better job vs. Ruiz than Joseph Parker did!

          Very good post.
It means nothing if he wins in 1 or 12.

It means something if he looses.

It all depends on Brezeale, if he goes for it or not.
Anyway, for some reason there is too much money to be made and I think Brezeale already knows he is not the Money maker, who knows what will happen behind curtains?

Will Wilder get rocked and saved by the referee again?
Will Brezeale come to fight or will he just show up to get a punch in the head?

Yeah, these things are silly. It took Floyd 10 rounds to get rid of Hatton and it took Pac 2.

Means nothing really because the dynamics of every fight are different..

breazeale fancies his chance but one would worry he's taken alot of damage from the mansour fight to his last fight he's more like the heavyweight version of hurd so it won't be surprising or mean anything if wilder gets him out quicker ..I'm looking forward to the heavyweight fights in the next two months

Means nothing to me either but I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I don’t understand why it would mean something to the fighters. Fighters are competitive and I bet you wilder first and foremost wants to win but he wants to win quicker than aj did.
