Comments Thread For: Arum: Loma-Campbell Will Be in UK, Will Air On ESPN Platform

Luke Campbell's hopes of getting a second chance at a lightweight title could now also result in a homecoming appearance-even if none of it worked out as his team expected. In a move that caught many in the industry off guard, the WBC ruled in favor of a petition filed by unified (WBA and WBO) lightweight titlist Vasiliy Lomachenko to challenge Campbell for its vacant 135-pound belt.

I'd like to see Crawford follow path and fight Brook there too.

Wonder how much more Hearn would be willing to pay to stage the fight over there. Has to be worth it to Crawford as he already does good TV and gate number over here. 14,000+ at MSG is very respectable. Doesn't matter if the attendance over there is larger when the tickets are cheaper. Same for PPV.

          Interesting read.

"The WBC ruled in favor of a petition filed by unified (WBA and WBO) lightweight titlist Vasiliy Lomachenko to challenge Campbell for its vacant 135-pound belt." Arum's influence got this done.

Also looks as if Abdullaev was going to get moved out one way or another. It is definitely better that Loma got the fight instead of Haney in this scenario.

Loma is going to destroy Campbell in front of his home crowd.

... very likely, as Campbell and Brook are both Matchroom fighters...

"Despite insistence to the contrary, at no point had Abdullaev turned down an ordered fight by the WBC, which made him eligible to fight for the title even as he celebrates the holy Ramadan season which began on May 5 and runs through June 4."

That's a technical foul on the WBC! Hopefully we still get Abdullaev vs. Haney! Javier Fortuna is azz out! Oscar should throw Ryan Garcia in Teofimo Lopez's place, and let him fight Fortuna!

Haney doesn't want to be Loma's mandatory.

I don't think anyone besides Teofimo Lopez, wants to be Loma's mandatory! Much better to fight him in a unification, so you get a better split! We'll see what Hearn does, now that Teofimo won't be part of that "tournament."

Yeah Bronx. It looks like Abdullaev was going to get the short end either way. It's as if the WBC decided they made a huge mistake ranking him #2.
