  • Comments Thread For: Whyte on Hearn's List: He Should Have Ranked Me Above Fury

Last week, promoter Eddie Hearn ranked his top five heavyweights in the world. At number one, in no surprise, Hearn named his star fighter, unified champion Anthony Joshua. Hearn then tallied off Tyson Fury at number two, Dillian Whyte at three, WBC champion Deontay Wilder at four, and unified cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at five.

Whyte has great entertainment value in the ring but I really hope Rivas KOs him, then maybe Beetlejuice would shut up for a day or two.. of course Rivas may turn out to be even worse.

By what scale is Dillian Shyte classified above Deontay 'Bronze-Bomber' Wilder? By the same rationale how is Oleksandr Usyk a top five heavyweight?

Can Oleksandr even beat a Joseph Parker? Has Edward forgot that without the mistake made by UK referee Ian John Lewis in the second round of Whyte vs. Parker, in calling a clash of heads a knockdown ( instead of a foul ) resulted in a 10-8 round in favor of Whyte? Furthermore who can forget the overt assistance that Whyte received from that crooked Ian John Lewis in a last dramatic effort by Joseph Parker in the final round?

Without these unfair rulings victory goes to Joseph Parker and we would not be reading this bias rubbish from Hearns.

On what planet is Whyte above any of the top 3?
Gee he knocked out Lucas Browne and struggled with Derek Chisora before a late round highlight reel knockout. Almost got knocked out by light punching Joseph Parker.
He’s top 10 but a massive gap between the very best of the division.
I’d like to see him against Ortiz

If we based everything on resume then Whyte has an argument for top 2. Obviously Fury had two big names in Kilts and Wilder, but then the drop in level of his opponents are ridiculous. Whyte does have the Parker, Chisora, Browne, Joshua, now Rivas... so he has a good steady level of opposition.

                Pfft please
Browne is useless on the world level.
I’m Australian and I can comfortably say that.
And you use Joshua as a reference? He got knocked out by Joshua and looked ordinary besides a good left hook early in the fight. And Chisora he struggled with, again. Keeping in mind fury toyed with Chisora and just showed the level he is at.
You don’t base fights by just saying oh he fought him so he’s regarded higher.

You’ve said some reasonable things in the past and this ain’t one of them.

He’s a good contender, but he’s not in the top 3. Only his promoter thinks so, and he gets paid to say that

Whyte isn't better than Fury or Wilder. He's building up a decent list of opponents but at the really top level he'll be found wanting again. The fight with AJ wasn't close, people gave credit to Whyte because he took a sustained period of beating for a longer time than AJ's opponents up until that point and hit AJ with a shot that he wasn't able to capitalise on.

He also struggled with Chisora twice, the top 3 don't struggle with Chisora. Ortiz even, who didn't make Eddie's top 5 wouldn't struggle with Chisora.

If you look at boxrec he is close to overtaking Fury .

Rivas is higher ranked than Schwartz so we will have to look at if he does overtake him.

Too much much of Wilder and Furys records are weak when you just look at the numbers without emotion on boxrec.
