Comments Thread For: Truax on Quillin: A Really Big Opportunity For Me & My State

The timing couldn't have been any better for Caleb Truax to enjoy the biggest homecoming of his career. The former super middleweight titlist returns to Minneapolis for the second straight time, when he faces former middleweight title claimant Peter Quillin (34-1-1, 23KOs) atop the April 13 edition of PBC on FS1. The event takes place at Minneapolis Armory, marking Truax's 27th career appearance in his home state, where he remains unbeaten (24-0-2).

      Re

I think Quillin has found his groove again, at 168, after getting steamrolled by Jacobs at 160.

Dominant win over J'Leon Love, and I doubt Truax is on his level.

The Love fight didn't show me much about Pete, but hopefully, he's back on the saddle. I follow his IG and he's been going crazy in the gym, so I'm ready to see it all in the ring! Truax isn't to be slept on either.

Quillin has this. Truex beat Degale, but Degale was shot. Quillin is the more proven commodity here. He'll take it on points.

The thing was, Quillin was supposed to be the gate keeper/stepping stone in the Love fight. He didnt follow the script, and pretty much gave Love a humiliating boxing lesson.

Quillin could have just as easily just taken the paycheck, and accept his role, but he didnt.

Quillen seemed to be slurring a bit already when they had their face off.

Before the first Degale fight I'd have predicted Truax getting KO'd by Quillen. But after that fight and seeing Quillen already slurring a bit, I'll predict a close and maybe sloppy fight.

I surely didn't see him as the supposed gatekeeper going into the fight, but that's an interesting take.

He's only lost one fight and didn't look his greatest against Lee...so I though this was more a do or die fight for both guys, for whatever reason.

We all know Love's been compromised since the Rosado fight and pretty much rattled from then on.

                Damn....smh
