Comments Thread For: Lipinets-Peterson, PBC on FS1, Averages Just Over 290K Viewers

The most recent edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on FS1 never expected to post a win in the ratings column while going head-to-head with NCAA's March Madness college basketball tournament. Then again, those who didn't bother to tune in probably didn't expect to miss out on the leading Fight of the Year contender, which can only help replay value. Sunday's telecast averaged just over 290,000 viewers across Fox Sports' various platforms, topped by Sergey Lipinets' thrilling 10th round knockout of Lamont Peterson (35-5-1, 17KOs) in a battle of former titlists at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Md.

1, that first fight with Peterson’s brother was a horrible fight and certainly would have turned off the nascar types who probably are more into Ufc and toughman contests than pro boxing. And going against NCAA is never going to work

Disappointing for boxing. Was a decent fight on paper, and turned out to be a pretty good fight in action. I don't expect casual fans to have much interest in those names but most boxing fans should have known it would be worth tuning in.

It doesn't look like the main card cracked the top 150. I don't remember a UFC show ever doing that badly, not even afternoon events.

Part of the card went head-to-head with Duke.

For Sunday night viewing ; I thought the main event made up for the disappointing first fight and more
Always enjoyed these “ midweek “ fights
Especially the Tuesday night fights , leading up to a big fight on Saturday was great

Sunday is typically a weird day for a fight number one. And two that's a small victory for Lamont Peterson hardly anyone saw him get stopped That's almost like falling in public and you get up really fast and see who saw it and no one seemed to notice lol
