I’ve truly never seen anything like dazn In my 40 years of watching boxing before. I’ve never seen that amount of money being offered to fighters who’s talent level doesn’t seem to warrant the enormous pay. In my day I thought the Tyson-Holyfield rematch with both guys making over 30m was tremendous but both of those guys had been champs
Multiple times over, had both lost, had both been knocked out, had both had high ppv sale rates and where instantly recognizeable by non boxing fans etc. This isn’t any of that. It’s great to see the fighters making that kind of money and competing with nfl, nba, mlb pay no doubt....but it still remains to be seen if actual stats can me made on an app only avenue in the USA. Dazn is paying for stars made on PBC, showtime, and hbo....can a fighter capture the casual crowd to have viewers in the millions on an app only? I just don’t see that yet. Dazn doesn’t have a robust marketing and promotion apparatus that crosses media lines. IE this in no way looks sustainable for that outfit. They have got to be heavily in the red with these contracts and lack of subscriptions and physical gates

yes yes Wilder only fights bums,thats why last 2 fights he fought Ortiz(who aj would never face)& Fury & was going to rematch fury til he sht himself. Just as Wilder signed to face povetkin in russia before he got popped with peds(a prime povetkin not the washed up old version AJ faced) he even signed to face ortiz much sooner but he got popped,he even tried to do everything to face AJ but he. was shook .
