Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor Hopes For Big Fights With Serrano, Braekhus in 2019

Katie Taylor says she faces the first hurdle of a potentially "monumental" year as she meets Rose Volante in a World Lightweight unification clash at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA on Friday March 15, live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.

I'd love to watch Taylor win her next 2 fights to become undisputed Champ, then fight Serrano and Braekus in super-fights - but I think it'll be too difficult to squeeze all 4 of those fights into 2019. The 2 Lightweight unification's are already booked in and it would be awesome for her to win just those 2. Assuming she wins both I can see one of the super-fights happening before the year's out, but the other will probably have to wait until early 2020.

My big worry is her intensity and willingness to engage in dogfights , she has such alround ability i.e. Speed , mobility , footwork, technique and endurance ... if volante has trained right mentally and physically and her team know what they are doing they will explain the above qualities Katie has and train her to close the gap and rely on timing ( to nulify speed )as her only chance is her punch and strength .. not sure volante has the composure and experience to capitalise when Katie's chin is exposed thou ..

Taylor has an incredible passion for boxing. I think that will help her prevail when in these tougher fights. When she fought McCaskill she proved to be the better boxer but she slugged it out with her to prove she could beat her at her own game. It was a dangerous move but she truly enjoys being in the ring and that passion is rare. I don't think we have seen the best of Katie Taylor yet and look forward to these bouts that bring it out of her. UP IRISH!!

          Whoa, whoa, whoa,

          She's too small for Braekhus.

If she could beat her, she's GOAT by far.

I also got Serrano beating her, unless all that weight hopping has destroyed her.
