On Saturday, Maurice Hooker (26-0-1, 17 KO's) successfully defended his title for the second time, dominating challenger Mikkel LesPierre (21-1, 10 KO's) by way of unanimous decision in a primetime bout broadcast on DAZN and Sky Sports at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, N.Y. With this being Hooker's first fight of 2019, he has already proven he stands amongst the top contenders in the world and looks to return to his hometown of Dallas, Texas for his next big bout.

The only time I saw Hooker fight was when he got dominated by Perez and they gave him a draw. Looks like he has handled his business in his last few fights but after that robbery (yes it was a complete robbery, not a close fight) I just can't get motivated to see him fight. If they had given him an L in that Perez fight I would probably be happy for him now and would be more motivated to watch him fight and to continue redeeming himself.

But by giving him that draw it's not really a redemption story, and seems more like a guy achieving success he doesn't really deserve. Sucks for him because I haven't heard much controversy about his recent wins so he has actually redeemed himself. Giving him that draw in the Perez fight just took away of lot of his credibility and legitimacy, imo anyway.

Everytime I see your picture I think it's Birdman and not Floyd. And everytime I think of Birdman I think of him kissing Lil Wayne. Maybe it's just me but that's what I always see when I see your posts lol

Hooker has become a legit threat in this division. He looks like he has improved a whole lot. That jab, right hand...but also the body and combination punching is on point. He looks sharp
