      Andre Ward, all-time great??

It bothers me to see Andre Ward regarded on the same level as Michael Spinks. I just don't see anything he's done to elevate him to that level. Would he finish a fight with Qawi? Eddie Mustafa Muhammad? Would he beat Hagler? And another thing; Floyd Mayweather. Would he survive 15 with Hearns? I question these and many other assertions I read. There is much food for thought and the new agers claim that the constant advances in nutrition and training methods raise modern athletes way above those of days gone by. I still see no evidence of anyone with a right hand of Tommy Hearns in quickness, accuracy or effect. Or for that matter, the right of Arguello. I see no one who I believe would have beaten Aaron Pryor whose non-stop attack for 15 rounds, we'll never see again. There was indeed a "golden age" in boxing and I feel very fortunate to have witnessed it live. You keep rattling cobwebs and bringing back memories that make me dig out old VHS tapes and I am enjoying it. Thanks,....and keep rattling

MARTINEZ vs Cotto was a NON-FIGHT. Nobody can take it as a serious demonstration of skill. Martinez was a sitting duck. Zero mobility. FACT. Cotto would never have beaten Martinez if they were BOTH healthy. Another FACT.

Yep! Spinks would beat any and every LHW from his era to now. Ward would get pummeled. Ward is NOT that special. I laugh when they say he's considering coming out of retirement to fight Usyk. Qwawi would have broken him down.

I'm no fan of his but he has a helluva resume. I just went back and looked at it and he faced some pretty elite fighters during that stretch and beat most. He only lost to Ward and Kessler. I think people forget how good Kessler or don't appreciate his skills.

Due to Froch's style and facing alot of guys who posessed more natural talent, some of his fights we're close grinding affairs. He also KO'd a decent amount of guys who were good or looked good prior to fighting him. I was pulling hard for Groves in both those fights but I tip my cap to the Cobra for prevailing.

I agree. If he had been 100% healthy he wouldn't have taken that huge first shot. Bread is doing revisionism here with those comments.

Anybody wanting Canelo GGG 3 seriously wants Gennady to get knocked out. Fight has to be at 168

Andre Ward was a great fighter but Bread has him too high in my opinion. I think he is somewhere between ATG and HOF. Maybe 3rd level ATG. If he would have won more convincingly and cleaner against Kov I'd have him a notch higher. Depending what Kov does from here on out could elevate Ward a bit.

I don't think that was peak Froch that fought Groves either. But Groves was at or almost at his peak back then. With Froch, because of his tenacity you'd have to say he'd be competitive against almost any 168 pounder apart from Jones.
