It is hard to compare across eras.

But I think Foreman was the best of his time, or would have been if he mastered the mental game.

Ali beat him outside the ring. Then cheated with loosened ropes. If it just came down to raw ability, Foreman would have beaten Ali. We all saw what he did to Frazier too.

If it wasn't for some cheating and some mind games, the whole 'Ali is the greatest' thing would never have gotten off the ground.
