  • Comments Thread For: WBC Prez Spoke To Wilder, Fury Teams - Gives Them Deal Deadline

THE president of the WBC Mauricio Sulaiman insists the heavyweight fight he wants to see is a unification contest between Anthony Joshua who holds the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO belts and the WBC champion. However, who holds the green belt by the time the titles are under one roof remains to be seen.

"The WBC does not get involved in any commercial [matters] or in the business side of the sport"

    This is very true.

    They are saints.

Fury’s side doesn’t care about any deadlines. They don’t want the fight. Time to just move on. Wilder’s side needs to get started on a AJ fight later this year. Maybe fight Breazeale in Birmingham in the interim.

The WBC notwithstanding, Fury is in no rush to take HEAVY blows like Wilders anytime soon, just because Furys boxing ability has somewhat come back, it doesnt mean he's not still "recovering" from his past mental issues & substance abuse. He'll most likely earn some needed funds fighting less dangerous guys....its not a bad look, health comes 1st....he can deal with Wilder 2,3 fights down the line..... After Wlad felt Joshuas uppercut in that last fight, he's only talked & speculated about coming back ....Those punches can cause lingering damage they won't admit to....I wouldnt be surprised if those shots wake them outta their sleep sometimes.

Let's be real. Boxing would be better off without the governing bodies AND the promoters.

Wilder still claims that he will be fighting in May. Doubt that it will be Fury. Most likely Breazeale or Kownacki at Barclays.

Now that Arum is involved, I think he will do everything in his power to make sure that Wilder vs Fury does NOT happen next. No one wants one of their cash cows crushed before they make several million off of them.

I'm not saying Wilder will win for sure, but there is a 50-50 chance Fury gets KTFO, and Arum won't want those odds.
