  • Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez - Hold On Tightly And Enjoy The Ride

By Michael Rosenthal - Some people want to reserve judgment on Teofimo Lopez, which makes sense. He has fought only 12 times as a professional. We won't know how good he truly is for at least two or three more fights. And he probably shouldn't be described as a star quite yet. Again, too few outings. He might pack arenas (stadiums?) and be featured on pay-per-view shows one day but we can't be certain about that...

In 12 fights lomacheko has already beaten a p4p fighter and won 3 titles in 3 weight classes. In 12 fights this guy's best opponent is ranked 63 by boxrec. FIGHT SOMEBODY.

That's true but Loma also had 400 amateur fights. The last Top Rank card was simply good match making to make Top Rank fighters look good.

Here are the betting odds from online sportsbook BetOnline.ag (full review here).
      Diego Magdaleno +1200
      Teofimo Lopez -2184
      22-1 under dog

Look at some of the other odds on that card like 90-1.
Flanagen KO Diego Magdaleno in 2 rds in 2015.

Im wondering can he beat a guy like Sharif Bogere?
So who should he fight next?

Who doesn't think Lopez is better than Crolla? I hope Arum can persuade Pedraza to MAN UP! If not Pedraza, then maybe Verdejo wants that work? There are only 3 fighters that deserve Lomachenko's time: Commey, Berchelt, and Teofimo Lopez!

Not every fighter is special like Loma and they are very few Teofimos out there. The kid got the goods and it is good to see some talent coming.

Also remember that Loma had 400 amateurs fights and 6 World Series of boxing fights

Ok but also look at their age it took loma way more years to be where he is at than where lopez can be at in the same amount of years proffesionally speaking. Yes loma is special but this kid also looks special lets wait and see but i got my money on lopez when he is ready not right now. But by the end of the year or early next year well see.

I just hope he stays active an doesn't do a Gary Russell.

The Lomachenko fight should happen next since Lopez wants it and he'd like to do it before he outgrows the 135lb division.

They are both free, have the same promoter, and this is an infinitely better matchup than Crolla. It makes too much sense.

Teofimo should stay clear of Loma.......for now.

A guy who beats up GRJ in his 3rd pro fight is not someone you rush into a fight with.

Give it some time young man.
