Comments Thread For: Troyanovsky: Baranchyk Can KO Josh Taylor in Later Rounds

The Eagle' Troyanovsky, who previously held the IBF and IBO titles, fought for the WBA Super-Lightweight World Championship against Kiryl Relikh in a WBSS quarter-final in Yokohama, Japan last year. A win for the 38-year-old Russian would have made him the oldest world champion ever in the 140 lb division, but over 12 rounds, in a very competitive battle, he lost to the Belarusian Mad Bee' on scores of 115-113 across the board.

Hope WBSS announces the remaining semifinal dates. This is long overdue...

Taylor vs Baranchyk is Glasgow 18th May. Still waiting on the date/venue for Prograis vs Relikh.

Troyanovsky needs to behave himself. He knows that Taylor can do all the things Baranchyk can do but do them better and at higher speed. We'll see if he offers a stiffer test than Ryan Martin - which shouldn't be too hard.

Taylor/Baranchyk should have been made on neutral ground.

Why? So they can box in an empty arena? 🙄

              This fight probably doesn't happen

All Taylor needs to do is survive and he’ll get the decision in Glasgow. Taylor is no Yigit though, I expect he’s got enough to win.

Taylor tends to get better as a fight goes on, if Baranchyk has any chance of knocking him out, it’ll be catching him cold early on.
