Comments Thread For: Kovalev: McGirt Has Made Me Focus on Boxing, Not Knockouts

Sergey Kovalev says he's learned from his mistakes and will avenge his knockout loss to Eleider Alvarez when he takes on the Colombian n Saturday in Frisco, Texas, for the WBO light heavyweight world title. Alvarez seized the World Boxing Organization belt from Kovalev on August 4. He was trailing on every scorecard, but knocked the Russian down three times in the seventh round to win his first world title.

I'm not a fan of Kovalev but hopefully he and Alverez both give us a great fight.

This clown has went the distance twice in 36 fights and he wonders why he gasses. This is a 35 year-old man smdh.

Cmon. GGG is an all time great fighter and Warrior. He made Kovalev quit inna sparring session 8 years ago. GGG is on a totally different level.

Kovalev is shot and washed up.

I guy in Boxing News 24 said this: "Kovalev looks to be on point with his conditioning, timing, focus and energy.
I was watching his workouts 3 weeks ago and the mechanics are smooth and on point.
He's twisting his torso at the right point when he punches, his breathing is in sync with his motions
His stance is just wide enough, his balance on point, he's shifting his feet rather than stepping, I like that
He's not ducking now, he's bending the knees instead, no more leaning back, he evades to the sides
He's tightened his core up and keeps his elbows in tight, no chicken winging anymore
I don't know what it is but I've always had an eye for this sort of stuff
This is the best Kovalev I've seen in years, since before the Ward robberies, trust me
Look for Kovalev to land a left hook to the liver and when it lands, remember I told you this
Bet the farm on it, easy money!
I'm never ever wrong here in 4 years, never".

I am sorry, but this is wet dream. Alvarez is going to win again. Kovalev is finish.

2 years ago sure , now that Kovalev's chin has been cracked i dunno its a toss up. Considering they have a history that goes back to the Ammy's and he has worn down Kov on several occasions.
