Comments Thread For: Klitschko Could Be Tempted To Return For Revenge, Says K2 Exec

Earlier this month headlines aroused on sports sites based on some gossips about a scheduled ring return of Wladimir Klitschko. Even a name broke up in Dillian Whyte, a heavy-handed contender who is currently the mandatory challenger of reigning WBA/IBF/WBO/Ring unified champion Anthony Joshua. The former long-time heavyweight ruler Klitschko (64-5, 53 KOs) quickly dismissed those whispers, labeling the whole story as fake news'.

Wlad turns 43 in a few months.

      Pac is only 40
Lewis retired at 37 because he was "getting old"
Foreman won the title at 45 after an almost 10 year comeback

I dont want to see wladimirs 43 year old ass fighting. Why? He lost to fury and AJ already when he was younger and active.

DAZN piching to him doesn't mean he's thinking about a return. My bet is that someone at DAZN just figured it was worth a Hail Mary and that he declined.

Wlad is more than disciplined enough to keep himself in the best shape possible for his age, and he will always have a KO punch in him - but is a punchers chance enough to gain a retired man in his 40's an immediate title shot?
This is just something that every sportsperson goes through in the first few years of retirement, they see the current crop of elite athletes and think "I'd have beaten him in my prime". Lennox Lewis still says it on a regular basis, and even the likes of Foreman probably still think it at times. The thing is a retiree is well past their prime; and no amount of skill, knowledge, toughness or power is enough for them to keep up with the engine and timing of a prime, elite athlete.

Stay retired..The Klitschkos are tabbed among the boxing history greats. Both brothers have contributed everything that the boxing world desired to see. At this age, theres nothing to prove.
