  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: I Have To Thank DAZN For Coming To The Rescue

In the wake of Manny Pacquiao's dominating victory over Adrien Broner on Showtime PPV, Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya declared the days of pay-per-view were over. De La Hoya made that announcement at the final press conference of the world title double-header featuring Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue and Jesus Rojas vs. Xu Can at the Toyota Center in Houston on Saturday. The card will be streamed live on DAZN.

        lol

PPV was supposed to be over when DAZN launched. I like how Oscar comes out right after Pac/Broner like "lemme check my calendar...okay, NOW pay per view is over"

and just like GBP before DAZN, Oscar giving us another ****ty card. He sure loves that WBA regular belt too.

Shame how one of my favorite fighters turned into one of my most hated promoters

Listening to a moron like Oscar is no easy task. I just wonder, does he know he's a moron? Probably not.

My oh my.....Oscar you are trying way too hard son. Firstly, putting boxing on an app only while football, baseball, basketball, nascar, college football/basketball, tennis, hockey, golf, etc are all on free tv and basic cable is the dumbest idea ever. Boxing was relegated to niche sport status because it was taken out of view of the mainstream, not everyone who had hbo could see it and since promoters like you stopped advertizing on the air waves and on billboards no one but the die hards knew it was on. If dazn were the only show in boxing I can guarantee you the only people to ever watch boxing again in the USA would be the die hards plus the Mexican American casuals who only tune in to see the popular Mexican fighter.....how is that good for boxing?l when you have FOX putting boxing on free tv and basic cable and seeing the fights advertized every day during their shows and sporting events??? Good lord when did Oscar get so THICK? He’s getting just as bad as fast Eddie hearnS

Oscar is right in a lot of sense. Under DAZN I feel like every fight is a PPV fight because you are able to see all of the undercard, the co-main event and the main event.

Plus just for two Canelo fights alone I paid $180 a year. Now I pay way less than that and I get to see all of Canelo fights plus over 100 boxing fights, plus some MMA plus all of the Baseball games! It's a given!
