Comments Thread For: Josesito Lopez Not Counting On A "Rusty" Keith Thurman

As a boxer who has been underestimated and overlooked his entire career, Josesito Lopez knows better than to expect anything less than Keith Thurman's A-game this weekend. The veteran contender from California is a heavy underdog to unseat Thurman, who returns to the ring after having spent the past 22 months on the injured list. The two will collide this Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with their scheduled 12-round title fight to air live in primetime on Fox (8:00pm ET).

That's good that he's not taking a returning Thurman lightly. Thurman is still an elite fighter. I like both guys but I'm excited for Lopez' opportunity at a world title. I know he's gonna give it his all. He's got heart and with Robert in his corner he should be competitive. I favor Thurman but if Lopez doesn't pull off the upset, I can see him being competitive for as long as it lasts. He's got a shot at a world title, certainly that's gotta get him up for this fight.

People on here giving Lopez way more chance than the books. If I bet $100 on Lopez I'd win $1400 but that same $100 would get me $2 if Thurman won.

Seems like the people with the money are confident Thurman is in shape and ready to go.

Lopez should turn the fight into a brawl and hope Keith's fragile hands don't hold up lol

I respect both dudes and will be at the fight hoping for a war. My pick is Thurman by rounds 8 or 9.

                Lopez vs T

I will of course be rooting for Lopez. I know he can do it if he plays it smart.
