Former world champion Marcos Maidana has practically ruled out the idea of returning to the ring, despite all of the publicity he got a few days ago. Earlier this week, a video was circulated on the internet, where Maidana was seen throwing punches in the gym and called for a trilogy fight with former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather.

Good for Maidana, and don't blame him. He would have some trouble with today's top welters.

I'm still a little pissed at him for being such a dirty MF in the first Floyd fight, but more pissed at the idiot ref for letting it happen. The second fight though, with a quality ref, made them have a boxing match the way it is supposed to be, and Maidana got schooled.

You do what you can do to win. Maidana pushed boundaries b/c ref didnt uphold any rules.

With that being said both fights were clear and decisive, but the 2nd fight was boring

I didn't believe he was coming back and I am glad he is not. At 35 he is 5 years past prime and would probably take a lot of punishment with his style. He is worth 5 million bucks and that's enough to live like a king for life in his country if he never makes another dollar. He is making money as a promoter so just keep doing that. I loved him as a boxer and wish the best for him.
