Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Wouldn't 'Wait On Sideline' For Lomachenko Fight

Mikey Garcia wasn't about to wait around. Once it became clearer to Garcia that a fight versus Vasiliy Lomachenko wouldn't come together within what he considered an acceptable period of time, Garcia began pursuing a shot at Errol Spence Jr. The prevailing feeling among boxing fans and media, however, is that Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) would have had a much better chance to beat Lomachenko than Spence.

He will be more than available after Spence caves his head in. Bet he ask Haymon for three tune ups after this fight.

This is the same pattern as what happened to Brook. “Getting the fights I want at my current weight is difficult, so clearly the solution is to charge headlong into a beating at the hands of the biggest puncher at the weight class that’s two divisions above mine!”

Why doesn’t loma fight Crawford? Mikey is going up 2 divisions to fight Spence who is a 154 pounder at 147. Yet the lomasexuals hate on him like no tomorrow, while ignoring the stench that their guy is being coddled and set up sgainst nobodies. The first opponent he fought in Salido he lost to and vs linares he was dropped and down on all cards.

Loma has no problem fighting fighters who are smaller than him in rigo

Or fighters who have been knocked out in Pedraza or dudes who came back from back to back wars in rocky.

Why can’t he enter a fight he is suppose to lose and attempt to show his greatness instead he fights bums and midgets

LOL. You’re ridiculous. “The first opponent he fought in Sallido he lost” yeah in his second pro fight. So what? He’s improved massively since then and is one of the finest fighters in the world today. Also no shame in being dropped by Linares who is an excellent fighter.

As a fan of Crawford, loma Spence and Garcia there’s no ****ing way I want Crawford fighting lomachenko. For ignorant people like you to say he only fights small fighters and so he gets no credit when he wins. Your agenda is obvious you just want to see lomachenko win over the best possible fights which is Garcia loma and Crawford Spence.

Like to see Garcia do well and pull all the attention for his success away from top rank. Maybe start a new trend " be like Mikey". Just fight the best possible opponents you can and make a name for yourself through your performances not your promoter's hype. I know it's asking alot to be judged by performance not gossip. But hey, what a concept!

The agenda with you is alive and strong. How about this since ya'll like mentioning Salido...who quit vs Salido? Oh that's right. No disrespect to Mikey but it's fact. Also Lomachenko fighting smaller dudes...c'mon. Rigo talked his way into that fight and got his @ss handed to him for it, Loma has refused to take credit for the fight or even talk about it much. Mikey is a great fighter but you don't have to shhh all over another fighter to make him sparkle, that's some b*t*h s**t. Folks like to act like there can only be one great figher in the sport or some ish..both men are great fighters.

Why couldn’t Mikey fought Loma April 12? About three weeks later than the Errol Spence fight. He could have beaten Loma in April and fought Spence later this year.

Mikey could have taken a tune-up fight around December/January-ish close-ish to when Lomachenko fought Pedraza. I mean, Mikey fought Easter way back in late July.

Why couldn't they have aimed at a May fight with Mikey vs Lomachenko at 135 (or sometime around then)? Why did Mikey decide to jump up two weight classes to an opponent who most of us realize is going to beat Mikey?

Robert Garcia was on the record for saying discussions/relations with Arum were fine between the two, and that they were talking. If Robert is saying it's okay, then why act like it wasn't and pull a Hail-Mary of a fight?

I think everyone knows Lomachenko was always going to take a tune-up post-surgery. After that though, he was back to calling out Mikey.

I don't even know if Mikey can ever go back to 135 after climbing up to 147 and probably taking some Ariza shakes.
