    If Gervonta Davis doesn't make weight for his upcoming title defense against Abner Mares, the challenger's trainer won't allow him to face Davis. Robert Garcia, Mares' trainer, told co-hosts Gerry Cooney and Randy Gordon during an episode of their SiriusXM radio show Monday night that they won't tolerate Davis missing weight again. Davis (20-0, 19 KOs) is scheduled to meet Mares (31-3-1, 15 KOs) in a 12-round, 130-pound title fight February 9 in Carson, California.

      What a hypocrite. As if his fighters never failed weight or fought at divisions where they killed themselves to make just to have a size advantage

          This fight doesn't really matter any ways. It's a mismatch and they are in two different weight divisions

                  Abner is already the smaller man and past his prime, Davis doesn't need any more advantages. It is a concern though, Porky rarely fights and packs on the pounds between them no doubt. It is obvious since at his age he has had weight issues.

                          Good to hear someone actually care about weight, even if he hasn't always practiced what he preaches. I wonder if Mares is down to lose the check though. He's not anyone particularly important in boxing, and the few hundred thousand extra might be attractive to him.

                              Weight is a small advantage, but skill and age are big so Mares and Garcia will go to sleep early that night. Night, night!

                                      Davis is waaaaay overrated & so is his SIZE.
                                      Dude is a lil' guy that is undisciplined & is almost 100% gonna have some ring rust.

                                      Team Garcia is just blowing smoke

                                      Anyone else see "Tank" doing the Judah dance.
                                      (I see alot of similarities between them)
