Comments Thread For: Flores Motivated, Feels Leo Santa Cruz is Looking Past Him

Miguel Flores is supremely focused on dethroning three-division and WBA "super" featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz on February 16 on FOX at a Los Angeles-based site to be determined, but the 26-year-old doesn't believe his rival nor the boxing community views him as a threat.

Should've given Jesus Rojas that shot instead of Flores. What has Flores done to get a title shot at Leo? What's the sense on having a WBA regular title if your not gonna have that champion get a shot at the real title? Why have Jesus Rojas defend that regular title? Isn't the regular title worthy of a shot at the real title?

Of course Santa Cruz is looking past Flores. Flores has only won one fight out of his last three. And two of those fights he lost by KO!

Santa Cruz needs to stop fighting bums already. I like him but his career is becoming a joke!

I agree I'm a fan of LSC but he has to step it up a little. I'd like to see him face Warrington or GRJ at some point.

I'm still curious as to why anyone is overly impressed with Santa Cruz. 90 plus percent of his fight are against this level of opposition or worse. His biggest wins are splitting fights with hyped up Frampton and twice beating a washed up mares.

If Santa Cruz goes straight for the body, ends in 4 but he might go easy on Flores in the earlier rounds so the fight doesn't end early

That's a good point actually. He fought Abner Mares after he was wiped out by Johnny Gonzalez lol
