Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Concerned With Size Difference in Canelo-Fielding

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez believes stepping up to 168lbs to face Rocky Fielding is a risk but the Mexican superstar insists he will go for the knockout on Saturday. Following his gripping points win over the previously undefeated Gennady Golovkin at middleweight, Alvarez is aiming to become a three-weight world champion by ripping the WBA 'regular' super-middleweight belt from Fielding at New York's Madison Square Garden.

No you not Oscar but I applaud you for attempting to sell this mismatch of a fight to pretend Canelo overcame the odds to win a paper belt.

Sure your concerned Oscar. In fact you were so terrified about the size discrepancy it forced you to actively peruse the fight with Fielding.

Of course you were, Oscar. Because that's expected. When your opponent outweights you, clinches you, etc. and you're just busy trying to stop jabs or whatever coming at you, it should wear you down.

But for whatever reason, Mr. Wilder was not only able to last to the 12th but damn near put Tyson Fury in a coma under the same circumstances.

        Mighty su****ious.

Typical of the promoter to hype the opponent and try and sell this garbage fight. Feilding who's lone loss was KO'd in 1 and 2 fights ago went the 8 round distance with an 11-7 fighter should be the easiest fight of Canelos career and at The same time grab an alphabet belt in a 3rd division.

Lol. Stop Oscar, please :'( Hahaha. But I get it. He's promoting his fighter and his event. Can't fault him for this but fans have to be know that this is indeed a mismatch. Fielding is big but lacks experience and boxing skills. He's never fought outside of Europe and doesn't have the experience that Canelo has against world class opposition. Let's be real. This was a carefully selected fight for Canelo. If not he wouldn't be fighting until next May. But because they consider this a safe option they went ahead with it.
