Ideally, Vasiliy Lomachenko would like to fight Mikey Garcia when he returns to the ring in the spring. Lomachenko realizes that's not possible because Garcia has agreed to move up two weight classes to challenge IBF welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr. on March 16. The WBA/WBO lightweight champion expects Spence to beat Garcia, but Lomachenko still hopes to test himself against Garcia later in 2019.

Mikey had been talking the Spence fight whilst he was at 140 and Loma still hadn’t fought Linares. It was clear to see from Mikey’s words he didn’t really have any intention on working with Top Rank.

There’s really been no timeframe for it. Hopefully there is after the Spence defeat but I think Mikey will be done with 135 and maybe Boxing entirely within a year.

depends on how he loses if it comes to that. if mikey gets knocked out or stop then i doubt he's gonna stay at 140 or 147.

he's coming back down to 135 where he's most comfortable at and was dominating. now if he wins or loses but it was close, then yeah i could see mikey staying at that weight.
