“Uncle Tom” Boxing Fans, and Writers

In the last couple of months, I’ve noticed a few trends in the boxing industry. The first, and I don’t care what the networks or promoters mislead us to believe, the sport of boxing is not gaining new fans. As I watch each passing month, I see more and more boxing fans walk away from the sport. [details]

Doc Pete is right on with his article. Now we have to get the idiot promoters and TV execs to listen to him before boxing has no fans.

IT AFFECTS THEIR WALLET IN A NEGATIVE WAY. I capped that because yes, I am yelling at my screen..not at you...Im with ya' on this...I have stopped paying money to see fights. I refuse to pay for 1 sided crap where they put up a champ against a for the love of boxing "sacrificial lamb", who you know for a fact aint gonna make it a competitive fight. I mean no disrespect to the guy you know aint gotta shot in hell. In fact I would rather see the guy with less experience fight another guy of his same level than to see a wash out. We have a promoter here in Michigan that does the same thing. You spend some money to get up close to the fights and your wanting to see compitition and all you get is 5 fights that are complete blowouts and then the main event is only slighly better than that. I'm sick of it, sick of fighters dodging each other, sick of seeing fighters managed away from fighting equal caliber because nobody wants to lose...hey, losing is part of any sport...would you put the Yankee's up against a C level college team...hell no...and nobody will pay to see it...but in boxing for some reason...can get away with this and people keep paying 40-50 bucks a night. It's bull****. Stop paying for it!!!! they will get the picture sooner or later, and if they dont get the picture, we will be forced to watching ESPN and classics, at least they show the best of the best.
