Fringe lightweight contender Antonio Moran stopped late-sub Alejandro Zuniga in round two Friday night at the Auditorio Blackberry in Mexico City. It was Moran's first fight since his close decision loss to current WBO lightweight titleholder Jose Pedraza on June 9. Zuniga took the fight on Wednesday night after original opponent Edson Ramirez was not cleared to fight by the boxing commission in Mexico City due to a cold he contracted.

I watched this show and the quick stop in the second fight was an example of waving it off without a count. The guy is whooping the hometown hero all over the place, but he walks into a left hook. He wobbles, goes down, but catches himself sitting up, and the ref waves it off, pushes him down and jumps on his chest. He's trying to get up, asking, is it over? Is it over? and the ref gets help to hold him down. She did it twice. Fury is so lucky she wasn't there.
