Comments Thread For: Atlas To Vote Gvozdyk in His ESPN Top 10 Pound-For-Pound

Oleksander Gvozdyk will be among those Teddy Atlas votes for this week as a board member for ESPN's top 10, pound-for-pound poll following "The Nail's" 11th-round knockout that dethroned southpaw WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson on Saturday night before "Superman's" stunned partisan fans at Centre Videotron in Quebec City.

I'd say the Nail's win is better because he knocked off a champion who was champion for over five years. That's always got be a big deal. With that said, I don't know if I'd put Gvodzdyk there just yet. Another good win and I'll definitely say yes but he might have to do a little more. I'm very glad to see the Ukrainian trifecta doing well. If Loma wins next weekend which I think he should, then this year has been great for them. Who knows what 2019 holds?

Atlas wasnt mocked for having Loma #1. He was laughed at for not even having GGG P4P top 10.

        Atlas is a JOKE.

I just opened a glass jar of home made jam which was closed for 5 years. Women couldn't open it for years but it took me only half an hour + rest time every 3 minutes.

Somebody, put me in Top 10 armwrestlers, please!

He looks very good for sure, and could be climbing the P4P tables soon, but it's still early days to put him in the top ten. It's obvious but probably still needs to be said that Atlas is probably a little bit biased. Beating Stevenson is a very good win and he's now champion, but before he wants to be talked about the same way people talk about Lomachenko and Usyk he's got to win a few more belts and take out a few more big names. He can do that by setting his sights on Bivol, Beterbiev and Alvarez in the meantime.

It was a close and tideous fight until stevenson completely gassed. And according to boxingscene stevenson has a worse chin than Khan. And it still took 20 unanswered shots for stevenson to go down. Time will tell how good he is but i dont think he set himself apart at 175 yet

Terrence Crawford is number 2 and hasn't fought an elite opponent in his division ever. His best win is still a chinny Featherweight at 135.

Fury beat Wlad when he was Lineal around that time and just beat Wilder on Saturday. Fury should be ranked ahead of Crawford at this point. Crawford needs to beat a real opponent rather than hiding behind Bob and ESPN.

The point is Fury should appear at least somewhere on the p4p list.
