Comments Thread For: Wilder: I Know What Fear Looks, Smells Like; Fury's Scared

LOS ANGELES A masked Deontay Wilder stood still, seemingly stone-faced, as Tyson Fury yelled at him Friday afternoon on a stage set up outside Staples Center. While Fury pointed and screamed at Wilder, "The Bronze Bomber" remained calm, careful not to waste any energy as he approaches the biggest fight of his 10-year pro career. Before they weighed in, the undefeated knockout artist scoffed at Fury's contention that the defending champion is nervous approaching their 12-round fight Saturday night for Wilder's WBC heavyweight title.

I don't think he's scared, I believe Tyson will surprise a lot of people.

If he gets caught with a right hand, could be over though

Deontay Wilder at the weigh-in reminded me of Skeletor from the film : The First Purge (2018), I am really worried for Tyson Fury.

There's many reasons why wilder is scared of fury.
He's the lineal champ. He bigger and scared to take punches from bigger man with longer reach.
He's intimidated with fury s self belief and roach. He's scared of home truths like he's fought 35 bums, and he's really a basketball man at heart and fury s a fighting man.

Tyson showed that nervous energy at the weigh in. He fought wlad with nervous energy. Glad to see him dancing at the weigh in cause he might be doing a different kind of dance during the fight . I wouldn’t be surprised if wilder can get and early ko like rd 1. but at the same time wouldn’t be surprised if Fury outboxed.

Fury isn't the one trying his hardest to look calm and wearing masks.

Fury is doing what he always does. Looks as calm as ever. Dancing, singing, shouting etc.. he's always done that.

Wilder is acting out of character, arguing with reporters, talking about being pregnant etc.. he's overly emotional. He's finally come face to face with a real fighting man and knows that Fury is a different animal to what he's faced before, not just in the ring, but out of it too. As a man, you know when you're in the presence of a real fighting man and Wilder has felt it.

Wilder has finally realised he isn't facing some journeyman that has come to shell up, get knocked out and feed his family. He's fighting a man that has proven more than him in the ring and born into it.

                neither man is scared ffs

i think both will have some nervous energy but that's not based on fear it's just being keyed up for a big fight

and i doubt it'll have any effect on the result.

I think Fury has got in his head enough that he’ll take chances and try and score an early KO. I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw Wilder go for it in Rd 1 to prove a point. He looks and sounds like he feels he’s not respected. What better way to shut everyone up than a KO1.

But Wilder’s team if they have any sense will be pushing for the late KO. They’re not worried about Fury’s power and Wilder will likely be outboxed either way, so better you let an unfit, ring rusty Fury wear himself out for a few rounds before going for a big finish late on.

If there’s that mental conflict come fight time it could play in Fury’s favour.

Fury’s best win was over trigger shy past prime klitz that was a snoozer. Fury moves well for his size. He’s slick but he’s not a fighting man or even a big puncher.
