Is the Muhammd Ali Trophy the most prestigious prize in boxing now?

All the ABC belts seem sketchy on their best day.

The lineal belt is bs cuz there is nothing requiring you to fight the best guys once you've won this fictional belt.

The Ring belt has been bs since GBP purchased Ring.

There is nothing else regularly scheduled quite like the WBSS. And despite the best of the best not being in all of the divisions done thus far they've gotten super quality rosters of guys entering this tournament.

And if you don't agree the Muhammad Ali trophy is the most prestigious thing a pro boxer can win, what would be the most prestigious thing a boxer could win?

Idk but the trophy sure looks nice as fùck. Just look at this thing, I'm sure bítches would cream themselves upon locking eyes on it if it was in my living room.

The WBSS is doing a great job of sorting out the real contenders to the bad.
Hopefully the winner of the W/W tournament gets a shot at a world title.
Definitely makes it more interesting than seeing mandos given to the title holders and getting blown away.
I'm sure their will be some exciting fights to see.

But really, I guess it could be the most prestigious prize for the reasons you've listed and just the unbias nature of the tournament. I also view becoming a unified champion as a highly regarded achievement, maybe highest depending who you beat, like Usyk grabbing up the WBO strap off Glowacki and then unifying all the belts through the WBSS was kinda amazing to me. **** was like a video game, fight this final boss, then this final boss...

I didn't even think to throw this into the mentioned highly regarded things a pro boxer can do.

But to me it still lacks as much prestige as the MAT (Muhammad Ali trophy) cuz its ultimately still a bunch of sketchy ABC belts. It always seems like its only possible to accomplish unifying by the biggest names, most money making guys in the sport vs this is something a regular high level guy could even attempt. The average top ten guy is lucky to get a title shot let alone unify vs other title holders.

Yeah, this right here has me agreeing with you on the Ali Trophy. The belts are sketchy as fùck, so other title runs mean more than others. Like Maurice Hooker's rise to the WBO belt really has me impressed at the moment. His run after one defense trumps many others imo because of all the factors that play into it.

So it's basically about the journey, not the spoils that become of it when it pertains to these belts.

              Does it really mean anything?
As a private conglomerate bought out the use of his name decades ago.

As long as we don’t see BS decisions like the Breidis fight, then Id likely agree with you in a couple years. I’m thinking if season 2 is also a success, we’ll be seeing American promoters putting their stars into the tournament. And if a weight class top 8 seeds are the top 8 in the division with fair judging and fair refs...Jesus I’m starting to get hard over here

I don’t think it’s the name of the trophy.

Call it the damn WBSS cup if you want. It’s what it represents

Well I recall seeing his widow at the presentation. CW fights were good though.
So that conglomeration it seems is picky in who they let buy/rent out his name, at least.
