That's a completely different argument. Fury is by no means the #1 heavyweight in the world, but he is the division's lineal champion.

I don't put much stock in the "lineal title", but I disagree. If any sanctioning body or org was trying to tell you fury was champion, you'd probably call bs.

I mentioned on page 2 I think, that you won't change the OP mind. Now on page 15 and nothing has changed.

Some people just have a different view of what a lineal champion is.

It's not a belt or a title you can be stripped of. It's just a line, dating back to the 19th century, of wins.
Starting with fighter A and finishing with Tyson.

Sometimes the line breaks e.g. Rocky Marciano and Lennox Lewis, muddying the waters, but eventually we agree on a new champion due to certain factors 1 Vs 2 being a pretty good one.

If you want break the line, even though the last Lineal champ is fighting next weekend and wait for AJ Vs Wilder, fine.

For me it's simple, Tyson hasn't been stripped of his win against Klitschko. He hasn't been beaten. He is still active.

Lazy reasoning. When Lewis retired it became vacant and people fought for it to become lineal. Lewis can't then unretired and claim to be lineal owner when vacant lineal has found new owner already.
Wilder and Josh were too scared to contest for it and fury came back before lineal status went to either wilder or josh
