Egidijus Kavaliauskas took another step toward securing a shot at Terence Crawford on Friday night. Lithuania's Kavaliauskas knocked out Roberto Arriaza in the third round of their scheduled 10-round WBO welterweight elimination match in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With Crawford seated at ringside, the 30-year-old Kavaliauskas improved to 21-0 and recorded his 17th knockout on the Maurice Hooker-Alex Saucedo undercard at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

He got a cool extra shot in once Arriaza was down, too.

I understand the demand and want to see all the fights now but I agree with u. Nobody at welter seems in a hurry to fight those two. Danny,Thurman,Porter,Pac,Khan all avoiding smoke. They wont get too much credit for the younger guys at ww or dudes moving up.

This Kavwhatever would normally be an acceptable opponent. But for a supposed p4p fighter, who is 31, is coming off fighting a cripple, and whose best win thus far is Postol...

Considering Bummed is 31 and has never fought an elite opponent, the question has to be asked: Why??? If he is really a p4p fighter why won't Arum let him face a world class opponent? What does Arum know that we don't? Hopefully the winner of Bummed-somethingorother finally laces up against a top 10 ww next.

So what's the verdict? I only saw his fight against Avanesyan, and he looked decent. Didn't see the fight for him tonight.

Do we think Crawford vs Kavaliauskas should be made now, or does he need another fight?

edit: Funny how Spence is fighting Mikey, and Crawford might be fighting Kavaliauskas, who is Mikey's sparring partner lol.

Kavaliauskas will be Crawford's 4th straight undefeated opponent.
