  • Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: Joe Joyce Has No Choice, He'll Be Moved Very Fast

Abel Sanchez, the head trainer for 2016 Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce (6-0, 6 KOs), indicates that his boxer will be moved very fast to a world title shot. Last month, Joyce made his United States debut with a big knockout victory over Iago Kiladze in a contest televised by FS1.

Can you make someone punch quicker? You can get better form so a punch arrives on target sooner.

I KNOW you can quicken reactions - there is online brain-train software that impoves your eye-brain processing time. Breadman talks about "quick eyes" - I'd think that would be a useful skill to work on and I suspect that not many boxers do it.

Joyce is very raw for a guy that's 33, and not in the way that seems to just work like it does for Wilder. While he's been able to bulldoze the smaller heavies who've been fed to him thus far I think he'll find his skillset lacking when he hits world championship level and he's getting matched up against guys who aren't dwarfed by him.

How old is he now? Like 32/33? Of course they have to move him quicker. Unless he wants to fight 39 fights against bums and then call out whoever his the champ once he think he is ready for a proper fight.

Joyce punches slower than a 3 toed sloth. On valium.

I hear the intention to move Joyce fast, but is the money there? Who’s he promoted by now?

He’ll need something extra to help him jump the queue to the big contenders, otherwise he’ll be a classic high risk, low reward fighter.

Theres no actual evidence of that though. And he hasn't showed the vulnerability of Wilder against Sconier early in hes career. Where Wilder overwhelmes with power Joyce has a very good engine for a big man and is relentless. Id say give him a chance.

He is very, very, very slow.

luckily for him, the division isn't stacked with fighting ability and many will engage with him, but i'd imagine a smarter defensive fighter like Fury would see his punches a mile off.

I think JJJ causes real problems for anyone in the division. The guy is huge and his stamina is relentless.

He looks slow and cumbersome but has dealt easily with all opponents so far and is deceptive. I think he will surprise a lot of people.
