Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson Wants Josh Warrington Sooner Than Later

OMAHA, Nebraska Shakur Stevenson believes his performance Saturday night indicated how he'd fare versus Lee Selby. The undefeated featherweight prospect just hopes he gets the chance to prove it. Stevenson called out the former IBF featherweight champion following his impressive three-knockdown, first-round technical knockout of Viorel Simion.

Selby, Warrington, but no mention of WBO Champion (and TR stablemate) Oscar Valdez? Hmmm, very interesting! Stevenson vs. Sosa! Make It Happen!

Selby won't stay at FW; he'll go up at least 1 maybe 2 divisions, same with McDonnell. They both were extremely weight drained when they lost their belts and probably should've already moved up.
He can chase the Warrington/Frampton winner all he wants, but will have to travel for either one.

Beats them all (besides Frampton) on pure TALENT alone at this point and the longer they wait to fight him and allow him to continue to improve the EASIER it will be for Stevenson when they do fight him.

I would like to see him vs Denis Shafikov or even better Jason Sosa for a very good step up test for him before going after the Champions

Selby is moving up to 135 if I'm not mistaken.

Denis is a light weight, but he's short and he eats too many punches. Sosa is a gate keeper and what's his claim, a hard head? I like that Shakur is willing to travel, but a pier in Belfast might be a wharf too far.

                    So later.....
Top Rank isn't going to put Shakur in a title fight for another two years minimum.
