Comments Thread For: Benavidez: If A Bullet Couldn't Stop Me, Neither Can Crawford

By Keith Idec - OMAHA, Nebraska Jose Benavidez barely was supposed to walk by now, let alone walk to the ring for the biggest fight of his career. Doctors told Benavidez it would take about two years for him to learn to walk again after he suffered a career-threatening gunshot wound to his right leg in August 2016. Benavidez was walking his dog and what he called an exotic, expensive cat around midnight two years ago in Phoenix, where his assailant shot him from close range and left him to bleed out...

Two boxers that been shot are fighting each other, you would think they have a little more respect for each-other being survivors of gun violence. Sad.

Benavidez clutching at straws trying to sound tough. Don't see what surviving a gunshot wound has to do with ability to win inside the ropes, plenty of boxers have been shot or stabbed (Crawford himself being one I think). There'll probably be some that have survived massive falls, RTA's, hit and run's, drowning, burning by acid/flame, even poisoning and any number of other life-threatening events. Some win, some lose; no different to anybody else who has not gone through life-threatening physical trauma.

A bullet only hits you once... Crawford hits you five hundred times.
