Comments Thread For: Crawford: Pacquiao is NO Champion, Thurman is WBA Champ

WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford is not giving any credibility to the WBA's "regular" welterweight title. Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao captured the belt back in July with a stoppage win over Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia. Crawford is looking to fight other world champions - but he does not view Pacquiao as being one of them.

More fighters should come out bash the WBA regular.

I personally don't recognize the WBO.

“I don’t see any reason to be fighting the number six dude or number seven dude. We want the best fighters out there at 147-pounds”

I don’t have any problems with ranked fighters fighting someone in the top 10. It can’t always be #1 vs #1

Pacquiao is over rated. I remember when people were acting like his fights with Bradley were a blowout win for him. Every fight he lost they said he got robbed lol

Of course he isn't. There are some good fighters who hold the WBA Regular "Title" but they aren't real champions.

Imo there should only be 1 champion per division.

Like Ray Mancini said "How many worlds are there"

And it's funny he's fighting Benavidez, who isn't even a top 10 welterweight.

I don't see how anyone could have a problem with what Crawford said. If I were Manny. I'd fight him to show him who the "real" man is.

How about we only recognise the IBF...they are the only ones with integrity. They stick to their rules and don't seem to make exceptions for anyone
