Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Fielding: DAZN Definitely in The Running, Says Hearn

With the rather surprising news that unified middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez would be moving up in weight to face WBA 'regular' super middleweight titlist, Rocky Fielding, on December 15th at the Madison Square Garden - many have speculated just who will distribute and televise this event. With Fielding being promoted by Matchroom Sports, many are under the impression that streaming service DAZN will be the broadcaster.

Foh telefutura should be where this trash lands. Aside from ggg, (who canelo clearly waited out) canelo has done nothing but face significant underdogs for the past 4 yrs. He refuses to fight a top fighter in their prime.

I think my month end their will a decision by both Canelo and Golden Boy. There hasn't been a free agent in boxing like Canelo since Floyd and that was over a decade ago.

Whatever network signs Canelo will also have to get Golden Boy dates as well. This honestly couldn't have been better timing for Golden Boy and Canelo to both be looking for new homes.

How can this fight be sanctioned? Rocky is a bum.

Wins over James Tucker, Olegs Fedotovs, Jamie Ambler and Paul Morby don't count for much when you get KO"d in one by Callum. Wow.

Talk about a cherry picking, ducking, dck sucking *****.

The only question is "what color fishnets will Oscar wear?

Hearn selling Rocky's belt to Canelo in the hope of getting a piece of that action. Smart move. I think Hearn is a slimy snake but if he gets Canelo on DAZN for the long terms then that deserves huge props. Can't see it though...unless DAZN reeeeaaaaaally want that marquee fighter.

Although this fight in itself is a bit of a joke, I can't really blame any party for taking it, this works out well for all. Rocky will take a prolonged beating for as long as it lasts but he'll get some good coin from it and has the opportunity for a massive upset. Canelo gets another 'title' in another division and a gimme fight, and Hearn gets to try and woo Canelo onto DAZN and boosts his own profile. Win, win, win.
