  • Comments Thread For: Team Kautondokwa On Saunders Doping Issue, Andrade Fight

After chasing a world title bout against Billy Joe Saunders for over one and a half years, Walter Kautondokwa may reach his goal in late October, save for Billy Joe Saunders. The unbeaten Namibian fighter, who is rated No. 2 by the WBO at middleweight, was supposed to become the next mandatory challenger by the Puerto Rico-based sanctioning body after champion Saunders has taken care of his obligations over current No. 1 ranked Demetrius Andrade in a bout scheduled for October 20th in Boston, Massachusetts.

I think BJS should be made to fight but get the smaller purse and is stripped after.

If Saunders has knowingly taken PED's after all the grief he gave Canelo for it then he is an even bigger prick than I thought he was.
The only way to stop the PEDs issue in boxing is for every Organisation and board of control to officially take away the excuse of ignorance - give an automatic, minimum 12 month ban and removal of any titles for any failed test.
If proven accidental by an enquiry (to be conducted during the period of suspension), the licence would then be reinstated after completion of ban but the boxer would be subject to highest level of in and out of competition drugs testing (VADA) for the remainder of their career. Also in case of proven accidental use, "emeritus" status may be granted on case-by-case basis to a boxer who has had a title removed due to 12 month suspension, making them mandatory challenger upon their return - earning no more than 25% of purse split for title fight.
Lifetime bans need to be given to any who are proved to have intentionally used in order to gain an unfair advantage; the only way to stop cheats is to take away their means of earning.

Dang BJS come on dude. I rather see BJS vs Andrade than this Walter guy. Andrade isn't gonna be able to make an impression beating a no name for a belt but oh well. If the fight falls thru he can fight Canelo or maybe GGG next year if they don't have a trilogy fight!

It amazes me that boxing lets people get roided up and beat each other up.

When i tell people about stuff like this in boxing they think i am making it up.

What Saunders tested positive for is far from a steroid. It is a stimulant with a chemical simularity to Ephedra. The positive result is so far in advance that it will have no real benefit. let's not blow this out of proportion!
