Comments Thread For: George Groves: Better Than Ever

By Shaun Brown - THE moment has finally arrived. Today, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia George Groves and unbeaten Callum Smith will have a desert duel to contest the super middleweight final of the World Boxing Super Series. It has been a long time coming since both participants moved into the 12st finale back in February. Go on Groves. Remember seeing him live on the Haye Ruiz undercard against Adamu, the guys got real skills. He's had many ups and downs but deserves huge credit for finally becoming world champ and winning this Ali trophy would be a massive testament to perseverance and coming through adversity.

Groves' jab (shoulder pending) should dictate this fight, his right hand may end it.

I'm a big groves fan and have been for years but let's face it he hasn't improved it's a case of the division getting weaker. He'd have outboxed Eubank and beaten cox at any stage of his career.

I'll never forget the build up to Groves Degale, James wanting to bet the purse, I wanted him to put Degale in his place so bad and he did.

After the two Froch fights especially the second one he could easily have faded away but he didn't, says a hell of a lot about his character that he is where he is now, he's a dog and I believe he wins this fight and gives everyone at smw a good fight, fair play to him.

Still think he would have won that 1st fight vs Froch if it wasnt prematurely stopped

Groves fought a great fight against Eubank, but what sticks in my mind is how the commentators missed the fact that Groves had hurt his shoulder and was fighting the 12th round with one arm.
That reminded me why I usually mute the audio for most fights.
