Comments Thread For: Brian Rose Vows To Make His Comeback in Top Form

Former world title challenger and British champion Brian Rose will be back in action on the MTK Global show at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on November 9. The Lion' (29-5-1-KO8) has been out of action since a controversial points defeat to Jack Arnfield in March 2017 with a WBA ranking title on the line and is determined to re-establish himself in the middleweight division.

A few years ago Brian Rose was still a decent boxer, a few years before that he was a very talented prospect. Then he sustained an awful cut across the bridge of his nose against a boxer who's name escapes me, which never really healed. Every time I saw him fight afterwards that cut burst open at the slightest jab, leaving his face a bloody mess; which understandably affected his ability to continue the fight - though he is a warrior and never gave up that I saw. Somehow I don't believe this issue has gone away, and while I admire Rose's determination unfortunately this is one of those instances where the board of control needs to protect a boxer from himself.

Props to Brian for always taking his job seriously by showing up in shape, making weight and always having a crack but he doesn't have the skillset to thrive against the new crop of talent coming through in the UK. I'd be seriously worried if he were matched up against someone who can **** like Groves or Smiddy

Performance against Andrade was the most embarrassing performance by a British fighter in recent times, Rose punched well above his weight, he's a **** average domestic level fighter!
