Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Golovkin: CompuBox Stat Analysis of Both Fights

As expected, Gennady Golovkin was the busier fighter in his two fights with Canelo Alvarez. GGG landed 9.4 jabs per round- double the middleweight average. That jab accounted for half his offense, as he landed 9.4 power punches per round vs. Canelo I & II.

In both fights the post-fight pictures tell you whose "power" shots were actually powerful.

    Ca$hnelo ended Borat. Thank GOD!!

      Score one for PEDS!

Another great win for Canelo and his team of judges. Why not announce the scores before the fight even starts and save the viewers all the antisipation. Is there anyone on earth that thought GGG would win this fight except by knockout??/ What does that say?

I'm a old school warrior.. If both fighters are still standing after 12rds... its a draw! I didnt feel like either fighter ever decided to be like.. "f uck it.. I'm going ko this fool.. or die trying! Its was more like.. tag, your it.. tick, tack, pow, your it.. tag, you it,, no, u didn't get me.. fine, take that!.. ha!! U missed again.. etc. Lol. U get the drift! Lol. Now, with that said.. whos face was more f ucked up? Probably GGG.. an dont tell me the word more isn't subject to degradation.. because to that I say its wrong to say a tomato is a vegetable.. its "more wrong" to say its canelo's nutsack after that GGG low blow! Lol

Jabs. But he took more power shots.

So about a 2-1 advantage of jabs in comparison to the diff in power punches.

Would you rather get hit with 2 jabs or 1 power shot?

l’m goin with two jabs personally..especially considering the quality of those power shots downstairs and up.

Hit me with two GGG jabs off the backfoot ANY day over a Canelo left hook to the body. F uuuuuuuck that. GGG looked like he was about to puke frkm the punishment.

I’d have s hit myself instantly with those body shots.

He landed way more jabs and only got hit with one more power punch per round. Guess jabs don't matter anymore? I'm sure if Canelo fought the way GGG fought, fan boys' and the Vegas/Golden Boy narrative would be that Canelo controlled the fight with his jab.

A lot of Canelo's power shots were his right hand, which I'd imagine is the weaker hand. But let's not let facts get in the way of your narrative.
