A big upset occurred on August 4th in Atlantic City when Eleider Alvarez knocked out WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev in the 7th round of their HBO televised main event. Kovalev was winning the fight handily on all three cards before he was caught and dropped three times in the 7th round. Kovalev was in no shape to continue which forced the referee to waive the fight off.

''Kovalev was winning the fight handily on all three cards before he was caught and dropped three times in the 7th round.''
So biased... He wasn't winning handily at all. It was a highly competitive championship fight, each fighter won 3 rounds, Alvarez winning round 1 - 2 - 5.

But yeah.. Jack-Alvarez would be highly entertaining!

Make it happen! I've never been bored watching a Badou Jack fight! He made me an even bigger fan in the Stevenson fight.

He was about to get a title shot with Kovalev before his legal troubles!
