Comments Thread For: Hughie Fury: I Get Past Pulev - Then I'm Coming For Joshua

Hughie Fury (21-1, 11 KOs) has a very big goal for the near future. To get there, he must overcome some tough odds when he travels to Bulgaria to face once-beaten Kubrat Pulev in an IBF final eliminator on October 27. Several other contenders have declined the opportunity face Pulev on his home soil.

This division, as much as people like to talk about it endlessly, is in a sad state when a guy with Hughie Fury's record can land a Joshua fight off a Pulev win. And, don't tell me you don't think they'd make that fight.

LOL true, and people seem to forget the Fred Kassi fight - he should have lost that after the 'accidental head clash' but the ref told him he was up the scorecards and that he could choose to not continue.

Hughie was badly gassed and was getting lit up like a you-know-what - would have ended in a TKO loss for him

At least Tyson and Joshua would fight quicker after AJ destroys the cousin. I can’t see that fight going any other way after the snooze fest the cousin put on against Parker.

If he squeezes past Pulev, AJ will take this guy out with ease.

Whether it's Pulev or Fury Joshua has to face for his mandatory it's not a fight that really appeals to anyone apart form Fury and Pulev fans. But unless it happens after Joshua has already become undisputed by beating Wilder I can't see Joshua willing to give up any belts so he'll have to take the fight.

Sanctioning bodies need to make a rule so that mandatory challengers can't just sit on their mandatory getting rusty while they wait for their shot like Breazeale and Pulev have done. Pulev last year when he was meant to fight Joshua was an OK mandatory he had been active but now he's a year older at a late stage of his career and fought nobody in over a year.

Fury is no threat to Joshua. I think he can make him look bad though with his movement but just like the Parker fight he might just not be willing to take enough risks and pull the trigger enough to be competitive.

If he beats Pulev give him the shot he deserves just because i dont like his style, a win is a win.

The selling point to the fight and will be noted whyte and Miller plus others ducked Pulev

I think Hughie lost to JP fair and square but he took JP’s soul (with his octopus arms) which is why Parker lost his next 2 fights.
