Comments Thread For: Jacobs Feels He'd Have Stopped Canelo If They Fought Next

NEW YORK Daniel Jacobs is sure he would've knocked out Canelo Alvarez if he would've gotten the chance to fight Alvarez next. "I think I stop Canelo," Jacobs said following a press conference Thursday for his October 27 fight against Sergiy Derevyanchenko. "I've always said that." Oscar De La Hoya, Alvarez's promoter, and Eddie Hearn, Jacobs' promoter, engaged in negotiations for an Alvarez-Jacobs bout when it appeared early in June that Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin might not come to an agreement on a financial split for their middleweight championship rematch.

Whatever breakfast of champions that Jacobs was eating in preparation for his bout with GGG certainly made for a very large and powerful version of himself, and I have to agree that this version of Jacobs would have had the best shot at a KO of Canelo.

I can't wait to see how Jacobs looks on the 2nd day weigh-in for the IBF title fight! He didn't do the 2nd day weigh-in for GGG!

Jacobs got dropped by Sergio Mora and he expects people to believe he could handle Canelo, GTFOH with that nonsense. It would be an entertaining fight though. Maybe the two winners could face each other to unify the belts once more.

Not a chance. Danny fights in spurts, got outjabbed by Golovkin despite the reach advantage, and is not as accurate.

The style definitely favors Jacobs, but I heavily doubt he'd be able to stop Canelo.

Styles make fights, people said Quillin would beat Jacobs, that Jacobs was a tune up for Golovkin and we saw how those fights went. People need to really stop estimating this guy, he's one of those "put the right opponent across from him" and he might shock the ***** out of you.

he has faster feet and hands than Canelo too. on top of being rangier.

                  he would knock Canelo out.
