Comments Thread For: Arum on Pacquiao Meeting and Lomachenko's Future

This past weekend, promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank flew to the Philippines to meet with Manny Pacquiao to discuss the future. Pacquiao, who is coming off a dominant stoppage victory over Lucas Matthysse on July 14th, has made it clear that he was now in charge of running his career. The Matthysse fight, which took place in Malaysia, was self-promoted by Pacquiao.

One of Arum's high profile clients is WBA lightweight champion, Vasyl Lomachenko. Would Pacquiao be interested in that potential match-up?

''I think very [much]," answered Arum, who says that for that pairing, ''we'd get a catch-weight.'' - Bob Arum

Arum says catch-weight, Papachenko says no catch-weight. Who wins?

So basically the plan for Loma is to fight the winner of pedraza vs beltran and then to fight a 40 year old washed up fighter. Yeah, and I'm sure Mikey is the one who's ducking Loma.

I’ll say this as a Pacquiao’s fan; I’d rather see the Pac-Man retire. But it seems that he’s intent on fighting on. If he takes a Loma fight it would have to be at 140. Loma’s a great fighter but he needs to get off high horse when he’s negotiating with a legend that can still go. 140 would even the fight out a bit imo.

Not interested in a Loma Vs. Pacquiao fight at all to be honest. (Trilogy is already on)
Would much rather watch Manny go solo & challenge the big fish in other promos.

                    Vs. Thurman
                    Vs. Porter/D. Garcia winner
                    Vs. Mikey Garcia
