Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Adviser: Zero Chance of Chavez Jr. Rematch

Sampson Lewkowicz, the advisor to former two division world champion Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez, made it very clear that there was a very small possibility that his boxer would fight again at the advanced age of 43 - but there was a zero possibility that he would ever have rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr. has been going around social media and discussing the possibility of a rematch with Martinez in the near future.

I hope not. If there's demand and money there then maybe just maybe Maravilla would jump at the chance but with his legs and age I don't think it would be a good move. His legs were already out when he fought Murray and Cotto to finish things. Chavez Jr. needs to lock in an opponent and make it official.

Chavez Sr. was a great legend. Very committed and dedicated to the sport of boxing. His son is the polar opposite and a loser unfortunately. It would have been better off if he never took up boxing.

And Martínez has to be one of the most over rated boxers in history. Antonio Margarito took him out earlier in his career. Then he loses to Paul Williams before knocking him out in the rematch with a lucky shot. And his next best win, if you can call it that, was against Chávez Jr., more over rated than Martínez. And he goes into a fight with Cotto injured, further injured himself while getting dropped several times, and can’t even answer the bell for the 10th rd. Stay retired!!!

He beat Pavlik. I wouldnt even call him over rated. I think to most boxing fans he is a after thought. Just like Cotto (unless your a Rican).
