Comments Thread For: Luis Collazo Punishes, Decisions Bryant Perrella

Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale - Former welterweight world champion Luis Collazo (38-7, 20 KOs) showed no signs of ring rust, as he dominated the younger Bryant Perrella (15-2, 13 KOs) on pace to a ten round majority decision. The scores were a crazy 95-95, 98-92 and 96-94.

This must be Collazo Jr, has to be. Luis Collazo is the guy who was robbed against Rickey Hatton's first welterweight fight in 1973. Collazo has to be like 82 years old now.

Collazo vs Ugas would be a great stylistic fight

Perfect example of one fighter with a much lower KO percentage and another fighter with a much higher KO percentage and knowing before the fight the harder puncher was the guy with the lower KO percentage. If anyone was getting knocked out it would be Perella going into the fight.

couldnt watch the fight, but was it in any way possible to score it a draw? I read that collazo was beating him up real good, but was perella able to edge some (early?) close rounds to make a draw possible?

No way was it a draw. It was just short of a beatdown by Collazo with Perrella running to survive with a few pitty pat jabs now and then. It was one-sided.
