    According to promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, there will be a British referee for the upcoming showdown between IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin of Russia. The contest is scheduled for September 22nd at Wembley in London.

      British refs..the pioneers of "UK stoppage".. where a fighter is conscious and to some extent intelligently defending himself but they rule it a tko..on a safe side it reduces damages to fighters but you gotta think as long as the time isn't out and his awareness is still on point he can always make a comeback instead of ruining their chances by waiving the fight off

        This is Povetkin's last hurrah. The fight with Klinch-ko was horrible. AJ probably wins but I hope Povetkin can do some damage at least.

            Britain has some of the worst referees in the world with Howard Foster and Ian John Lewis being the most egregious examples.

                    I don't know a single decent British referee. They are generally incompetent and corrupt and biased. Get one of those who of fiat in Las Vegas, they are better than most.
